BBQ Box Chinatown Popular Dishes
Famous dishes of BBQ Box Chinatown are discussed below:
Premium Cumin Mutton Skewer
It’s a delicious meal with soft pieces of mutton spiced with the finest cumin spices. A delicious and fragrant experience is produced by the meat’s excellent skewering and grilling to perfection.
Orleans Chicken Mid-Joint Wings
This meal is full of taste and has chicken wings that are seasoned with a special blend of spices that are influenced by the cuisine of New Orleans. To get a crispy outside and juicy, tender meat inside, mid-joint wings are usually baked or fried.
Grilled Oyster
To bring out the inherent flavors of fresh oysters, they are seasoned, shucked, and cooked either on a grill or over an open flame. The oysters get a distinctive blend of salty and briny flavors from the grilling procedure, which also gives them a smoky and charred quality.
Grilled Beef Fat and Lean
This dish has perfectly cooked lean and fatty beef pieces properly grilled. These two components work together to improve the overall flavor and texture, creating a wonderful contrast between the lean meat’s delicacy and the rich, juicy texture of the fatty sections.
The staffs were very alert to the surrounding. Niece got scalded by the hot plate… they immediately attented to her with ice cube… oilment, plaster… woah… 👍🏻 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic food, awesome experience, nice neighbourhood, and the right price. I have been here twice already and probably will be here next time I am in Singapore. Thumbs up 👍
BBQ box is a favourite chain of mine. Would say that the food at this outlet is not bad, but other outlets do it slightly better in terms of seasoning. Overall, will still come back to this outlet.
Went back yesterday and the food was still great! The potato skewers here are still the BEST. The place attracts a bigger crowd now but service was still good- food received were well paced and delicious! The quiet ambience and music of before are now replaced by louder conversations- I guess the beer that's great with the food plays a role! Would return nonetheless for more!=== Earlier review===Perfect cold day / rainy weather comfort food. The potato slices and meats we ordered (i.e. beef, chicken and lamb skewers, plus cajun chicken wings) were well marinated. Sat downstairs and enjoyed the quiet, homey decor and ambience. Loved their choice of Chinese background songs which blended with the mood. This review is based on my second visit which was just under a month after my first visit!
Hit and miss for meNot everything was niceThe best was iberico pork and the dumpling in chilli oilThe rest were disappointingBeef and lamb specifically
Went to several outlets before. BBQ box has always been one of my favorites. Ordered a large variety of skewers. The prawns were very well cooked and crispy enough to eat the shell, there used to be a lot of meat on the prawn too. The fried mantou is very nice, so is the dumpling soup (10 pieces) which gives a very nice balance to an oily meal. The pork, beef and lamb skewers were all good especially the American Berkshire pork, beef lean and fat sticks. The potato slices were oily but nice. The Japanese rice ball was quite average to be honest and overall the food was good. Use fave app to get 10-15% rebates
Tasty food at an affordable price for those who are on vacation for a relatively short period of time. The service from those who do not speak English, as is customary in Singapore, was negative. But whoever did speak was very helpful.Ok atmosphere, nothing out of this world. I was full.
skewers were a hit or miss, some of them were well seasoned, while others failed to cover the gaminess of the meatthe golden pumpkin soup was great and packed full of ingredients, fish slices were fresh toofood was okay for the most of the experience, though prices are very inflated.
First, talk bout food. Taste wise was okay. Wouldn't come back just for this.Secondly, price point of food was horrendously overpriced. 4.80 for 6 small dumplings, $1.80 to $2.5 for skewer..... Not inclusive of GST and Service Charge....Service was ok, was proactive when you enter. Afterwards, it's meh.
The food is delicious😋 but a bit expensive. The service is satisfactory👍A big compliment to Miss Jialing👍who took great care of us diners yesterday. I highly recommend this restaurant⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The food is always good and the service is warm and attentive. That's why I've been coming back for so many years. It’s just that I recently found that the plates have become more refined and the portions are much smaller. The one in Chinatown is very uncomfortable to sit at the door because the glass door does not close automatically.
I ate at this restaurant today. It was busy and there were a lot of people. Then I saw a waitress named "阿瑩" who was very busy. I kept asking her to take away the chili powder plate and dropped my chopsticks. She immediately brought a new one. The service was very good and the food was delicious. I recommend the meat skewers and will come again next time! ☺️
Nice clean place, we had some nice chicken and beef skewers and they were perfectly seasoned and grilled. Together with some veggies it was an ideal lunch.
Could be overly rated. It's my 1st visit & I must say it's a little disappointing. The name BBQ Box seems to suggest it's Forte is the BBQ, but it is totally not true. For the meat to feel even slightly warm, maybe an hour. It's totally ridiculous. Thought that the sticks of meat are pre-cooked, it is cold & hard.In fact, all other dishes somewhat taate better than the BBQ.Very high chance I will go elsewhere if I am serious about BBQ.
Food nice and not too oily as another outlet. Didn’t reserve table and there empty table for 4 pax and the waitress didn’t hesitate and allocate 2 pax of us on that table. Unlike other restaurants will wait till 4 pax only occupied that table. We order upon sit on it and food serve pretty quickly and they didn’t pressure us leave but we also don’t want occupied the place when we finish eat. They act very fast clean the table. Feel impressive their professional service. Will definitely visit again and hope they can main such great service 🙂
Food is affordable and nice! The seasoning on the skewers is just right, not too bland and not too salty. The best was the potato skewers, the potato just absorbs all the flavour!Highly recommend their pigs ear with cucumber as well as their 酸辣粉 (sour & spicy noodles)!
My personal overall rating: 4.3*There are many BBQ Box outlets in Singapore and even in JB.Skewers were done nicely, the skills of the chef’s reflex on the finished products: Nicely charred meats, juicy and just enough of spices and salt to balance out the gameness of meat’s especially the lamb, if any.My personal favourite is the Lamb on Red Switch sticks 红柳枝羔羊 where the sizzling oils from the meats and smoky aroma can be detected when they were placed on the table. The meats carried not only the charred lamb fragrance but also mixed with the delicate and mild fragrance from the Red Switch sticks.Grilled pig trotter was average.
Quite decent North eastern China style skewers with plenty of varieties in the menu. I like the young lamb with red switch (红柳枝羔羊), grilled pork jowl , squid tentacles, applewood beef skewers, grilled shiitake & oyster mushroom. Having the piping hot skewers accompanied by cold beer was a perfect combination !
Rating: 4.2 / 5 stars🤩 : Range of offerings, strong tasty flavours🤧 : PriceyMy partner and I spent over $80 (after tax) on a dinner here. It still boggles my mind how we chalked up that bill. That said, it was a memorable experience that we found relatively good.To start, this place has three floors of seating. I hope this brings some hope to those who intend to walk-in during peak periods. As we arrived fairly early into the evening, we had no issues or wait getting a table for two. We appreciate the wide variety of options for skewers and non-skewer products. Ordering was conveniently done online, which is great for such large menus. After order, food started arriving in batches after the 10 min mark. This was a fair waiting time. Here are the highlights from our evening:* Cold noodles - passable* Male flavoured skewers (pork/beef/chicken) - strongly flavoured and not particularly spicy* Anything New Orleans-flavoured - must have, especially the mid joints* Chilli oil dumplings (红油抄手) - good enough* Potato slices - addictive* Tofu skin - very salty but incredible flavours* Regular meat pork/beef/chicken/gizzard skewers - great, cooked just rightI suggest requesting for a dry spice mix (干碟) to add another layer of complexity to your meal. Will be back, when my wallet recovers.
Long queue for table. Good food and service. The BBQ sticks sprinkled with herbs, and spices are delicious. The chili chicken appetizer is a must try. Extensive Chinese menu. Pricing is reasonable. Will come again to try other dishes.
I was surprised by the quality of food, as I had been quite skeptical just by looking at the menu. Would recommend to try their spicy dishes, because they have the Sichuan-flavor. Good place to catch up with friends and drinking. Not a representative of Singapore Chinese food, but it has good Chinese food. Recommend a visit if you crave for some good spicy stuff.
